Shannon Gallagher

Biography

Shannon is a second year PhD student at Carnegie Mellon University. She is working with the MIDAS Informatics Service Group in producing synthetic ecosystems for use in Agent Based Models for both the United States and the world. Shannon is also a member of the DELPHI group which uses statistical and machine learning methods to predict the incidence of influenza in the United States. Previously, Shannon was active in CMU's Census group in attempting to solve the problem of transitivity in the field Record Linkage.

Shannon's research interests include infectious disease modeling, spatio-temporal modeling, and non-parametric methods. Shannon graduated from CMU in 2014 with a BS in Mathematical Sciences, and also received her Masters of Statistics degree from CMU in 2015.
